Marva Brown-Telfer, RN, MSN

Ms. Telfer’s passion for nursing education and her commitment to the highest standards of patient care has distinguished her throughout her profession.

Why we love her:  Ms. Telfer gives her all to her students.  She’s been known to even offer her home to a student in need.  The student tells of the day she and her four children found themselves homeless and how Ms. Telfer was the first to offer up her residence on the condition that the student not quit her Nursing Program.  The student completed the nursing program.  Today, she is a successful nurse who is able to provide a better life for her family.

Why we love him:  Dr. Okonko was awarded the Mercy Foundation Community Service Award for his service to low-income populations in Edo, Nigeria.  During his service, Dr. Okonkwo delivered patient care and provided health education to underserved patients, even delivering dozens of healthy babies along the way.
